An-132D production by Saudi Arabia takes step forward

An agreement for the joint production of the An-132D multi-purpose transport aircraft was signed by Antonov, Taqnia Aeronautics, and Wahaj. An-132D made its maiden flight in April 2017. The An-132D (modernized version of An-132) is being co-developed by the Ukrainian company Antonov and Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.

The new agreement will see Antonov acting as prime contractor with all  three entities embarking on the first stage of co-operative manufacturing. With the assistance of Taqnia and Wahaj, a set of serial aircraft will be initially constructed at Antonov’s facilities. Taqnia and Wahaj will be responsible for manufacturing components and units for the aircraft. Wahai is specifically responsible for the landing gear.
